Cassidy Gale

Description:
Bio:

Cassidy was born into the house of Gale, an Elven Noble house of moderate respect and position. He grew up trained by the finest teachers, and like many elven nobles was raised with the blended martial traditions of arcane magic and delicate swordplay. This suited Cassidy as he grew up, a bored young noble who took pleasure in perfecting his form and besting other nobles in duels, duels often provoked by his tendency to find himself in comprimising situations with women both promised to or born from other proud nobles. When Cassidy reached his age of formal adulthood he, as was expected of him, enlisted in the military as an officer to offer the Empire his services, as was his noble duty. It was only right that those born into a higher position take care of those beneath them.

Against the wishes of his family and to the surprise of his fellow officers, Cassidy volunteered for active duty in an area of active uprisal. Some mistook this as bravery or heroism, but it was initially only naive boredom, Cassidy assumed that combat would be more interesting, like the duels he grew up winning with ease against soft noblemen. He was very wrong and after two weeks in this contested zone, he had been wounded several times, but his stubbornness kept him on the lines as he recovered, annoyed that his upbringing didn’t prepare him for this. During his downtime he befriended his unit’s quartermaster, as he was always ensuring his gear was properly maintained and cared for moreso than that of the rank and file soldiers. The quartermaster warmed to him slowly, at first resenting the noble’s entitled attitude, and eventually taking it upon himself to show Cassidy how his sheltered upbringing blinded him to the realities of warfare. The quartermaster dismissed his elven traditions as backwards and ancient, and this is where they found common ground, Cassidy had no love for the longbow or longsword despite his skill with these traditional weapons. Cassidy traded his electrum-trimmed studded leather for sturdy splint mail, letting the heavy armor mask the quickness in his sword-hand. This was what the quartermaster taught him, don’t hold back and take any advantage given to you, even if it is through deceit or unorthodox means, your pride means nothing if you’re dead.
